GSP Relax Time Club President's Speech
It’s a great honor and privilege to be able to host a highly prestigious international competition on the Canegrate minigolf course: the “Open Minigolf World Championships for Seniors”. It is the second edition of this competition and for the first time in Italy. Only last year another very important international competition took place on our course: the “Minigolf Champions League”. All this is made possible thanks to the efforts and passion of the minigolf course’s owners: Angelo and Mariangela Aghemo. A big thank you is also addressed to all the members of the GSP Relax Time Club who, thanks to their help and availability, make such important competitions possible. Special thanks are also addressed to Ermes Franchini, Guido Mattaini and the friends of the GSP Vergiate Club for their technical support. In these months of preparations, the Canegrate Municipality has been very near to us and supported us; for this reason it is right to say thanks to Matteo Modica (Canegrate’s Mayor) and Ilaria Sormani (Councilor with responsibility for Sport). I wish all the players to achieve their sporting goals and that this competition can represent an important stage in their personal careers. All the staff and members of GSP Relax Time will give their all for the success of the competition, trying to satisfy the players’ needs. Good luck to everyone and may the best win!

Speech by the Mayor of Canegrate
Less than a year after the success of the 2023 European Minigolf Championships, the Canegrate Municipality is back in the spotlight by hosting the “Open Minigolf World Championships for Seniors”. This prestigious recognition, which adds to last year’s much appreciated competition and the 2007 World Championships, further highlights how Canegrate can include not only a competition minigolf course of absolute excellence, but above all a Club, such as the GSP Relax Time whose President is Federico Maffezzoni, capable of impeccably organizing sports competitions that represent and encompass the excellence of this sport. I can only repeat what was said previously, because our Municipality will truly once again be a point of reference for athletes and sportsmen of the highest level. However, the occasion also brings cultural and personal exchange, thanks to the participation of athletes from many different nations: once again, a message of unity that we constantly need. The personal thanks of the Councilor with responsibility for Sport Ilaria Sormani – who has spent and continues to spend so much for the success of this event and, in general, for Canegrate Sport – of our entire community goes once again to the Gsp Relax Time Minigolf; allow me to give special thanks to the founder Angelo, who made the diffusion and valorization of Minigolf as a sport a real life mission, then carried forward by all his collaborators and in particular by Mariangela. At the time of writing these lines, unfortunately, the same preclusions and barriers that have characterized participation in international sports competitions for two years remain. I hope that, as you read, you will consider them outdated, but I fear that the Paris Olympics will also be remembered for the absence of nations, athletes and spectators who unfortunately have to face the suffering of wars. In our small way, Canegrate will be able to live up to this opportunity and will be able, once again, to proudly call itself a small capital of Minigolf and Sport.
